David Beckham urges Manchester United flops to prove they are ‘motivated’

David Beckham, aged 49, has called on the underperforming players of Manchester United to demonstrate their dedication to the struggling club. The former United star, who played a pivotal role in the club’s famous treble-winning season in 1999, was in Manchester to attend the premiere of a documentary about that historic achievement.

Beckham’s company, Studio 99, has contributed to the production of the three-part series ’99’, set to be released on May 17th. Reflecting on the current issues at Old Trafford, Beckham emphasized that the players must shoulder some responsibility, stating that as Manchester United players, they should be inherently motivated to perform in high-stakes matches.

Following their embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, United manager Erik ten Hag is currently under pressure to maintain his position within the club, as they currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League. However, victory against local rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final could potentially salvage what has been a challenging season for ten Hag.

Beckham expressed his hope that the current United squad would demonstrate their worth and secure their long-term futures at the club by delivering an exceptional performance at Wembley, seeking redemption for last season’s final defeat to City. In his view, being a professional footballer at a beloved club should be motivation enough to excel in every game, regardless of its significance.
