Raphael Varane set to leave Manchester United after three years at the club

Raphael Varane, the central defender, has announced his departure from Manchester United at the conclusion of the season, marking the end of his three-year tenure at the Premier League club.

The French international, who joined United in 2021 following a decade at Real Madrid, has participated in 67 league matches for the English team and contributed to their League Cup victory in 2023.

Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the club, Varane stated in a social media video that it has been a remarkable experience to wear the United shirt.

Despite being sidelined due to a muscle injury since April, Varane aims to return to action before United’s season concludes with the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.

The club issued a statement expressing appreciation for Varane’s contributions and wishing him success in his future endeavors.

United, currently in eighth place, will play their final home match of the season against Newcastle United on Wednesday.

Varane also mentioned that he looks forward to bidding farewell to the fans at Old Trafford during the last home game of the season, anticipating an emotional day ahead.
