Manchester City claim fourth consecutive Premier League title after final day triumph

Manchester City clinched the Premier League title for the fourth consecutive year with a 3-1 victory over West Ham United on the final day.

Pep Guardiola’s team has been dominant in the league over the past decade, securing six out of the last seven Premier League titles.

Despite facing a tough challenge from Arsenal this season, Manchester City’s players rose to the occasion when it mattered most, showcasing their consistent winning mentality. The only season in the last seven years that Manchester City did not win the title was in 2019/20, when Liverpool emerged victorious in what is often referred to as the COVID-19 affected season.

Prior to the last two seasons, Liverpool were the main contenders to City’s supremacy, but Arsenal has now emerged as a strong competitor to Klopp’s team. Unlike the previous season, where Arsenal faltered in April, this season they pushed Manchester City until the final day.

Arsenal’s success this season can be attributed to their acquisition of Declan Rice for £105 million, who brought defensive stability and creativity to their gameplay. Meanwhile, Phil Foden played a crucial role for Manchester City in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, contributing significantly to their title-winning campaign.

Despite both teams having strong seasons, Manchester City’s flawless run after the draw with Arsenal in March proved to be decisive, while Arsenal’s loss to Aston Villa in April was a setback. The media highlights this defeat as the turning point, but dropping points against Fulham also played a significant role in Arsenal’s title challenge. Manchester City’s consistency and winning mentality ultimately led them to another Premier League triumph.
