Fifteen Super Eagles players were involved in training in Uyo on Sunday in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.

This was revealed by the new Eagles Media Officer Promise Efoghe.

The Eagles will host South Africa inside the Godswill Akpabio stadium on Friday 7, June 2024 in their third Group C game.

On 10 June, the team will travel to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to take on Benin Republic on matchday four.

According to the Media Officer, 13 players trained on Sunday morning while two more arrived thereafter and 15 trained later in the evening.

Efoghe then stated that eight more players are still being expected in camp ahead of the double header games.

Among the 15 players in camp are Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze, Stanley Nwabali, Terem Moffi, Victor Boniface and Raphael Onyedika.

Others are Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Alhassan Yusuf, Chidozie Awaziem, Ojo Olorunleke, Ismaila Sodiq, Ibrahim Olawoyin and Benjamin Tanimu.

While the eight players still being expected are Maduka Okoye, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman and Paul Onuachu.

Meanwhile, the Eagles will be without Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Zaidu Sanusi and Moses Simon due to injury.
