Manchester City have launched a special fourth kit for the 2024/25 season, made by Puma and inspired by legendary local band Oasis and their landmark Definitely Maybe album.
Oasis reformed this week ahead of a series of concerts in 2025, nearly two decade after tensions between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher led to their 2009 split.
The pale yellow, pink and turquoise colouration of the fourth shirt bears similarities to the album cover. Shooting to enormous fame in 1994 when DefinitelyMaybe was released, Oasis helped define British popular culture and broke record after record during the 1990s.
Hailing from Burnage in south east Manchester, a stone’s throw from City’s former Maine Road home, the Gallaghers have long been the club’s most famous fans.
Noel in particular has very close ties and has already collaborated this summer, designing the font and numbering to be used in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup across 2024/25.
City’s 2024/25 home kit was unveiled in May, before the end of last season, and takes inspiration from Manchester’s 0161 area code, which the club says is a “sense of what being Mancunian is all about”.
The away kit which followed is a yellow and black striped jersey that is a direct remake of the shirt the club wore in 1999’s Division Two (modern day League One) play-off final. A third strip for this season is maroon, which has long been a common City trim or change colour.
