In EA FC, you have a wide array of midfield profiles. There’s the tough-tackling number six, the all-rounder, the pace merchant, the winger turned CAM, and plenty more.

It takes all sorts to make a world and, in this case, a world-beating team on your PlayStation. Just like in real life, midfielders come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and it’s simply no use trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Finding talent is hard enough but securing the next generation of elite midfielders is even tougher. Picking up young talent can be pivotal to long-term success in EA FC 25, as any seasoned Career Mode specialist knows all too well.

So, to save you a job, here are the best young players aged 23 or under in EA FC 25 who can play in midfield based on confirmed ratings, leaks and rumours.

We’re including any player in EA FC 25 who can play in midfield (CDM, CM and CAM) as either a starting or alternate position, meaning we have some absolute crackers available.

Unsurprisingly, it’s Jude Bellingham who tops the midfielders aged 23 or younger, with the Real Madrid star rising to 90 overall this year. That upgrade is much deserved following a sensational 2023/24 with Real Madrid that saw him win La Liga and the Champions League. There could be a Ballon d’Or on the horizon, too.

The Bundesliga houses the next most promising young midfielders in Florian Wirtz (88) and Jamal Musiala (87). The international teammates both enjoyed prosperous seasons with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich respectively, but it was Wirtz who was crowned the division’s Player of the Season.

Barcelona also boast two of the game’s brightest stars. Pedri is rated 86 in EA FC 25, the exact same rating as last year, while Gavi has been handed another 83 rating after an injury hit 2023/24. Real Madrid rival Eduardo Camavinga also comes in at 83.

The Premier League and – unsurprisingly – Chelsea serve up some of the best wonderkid midfielders out there. Cole Palmer (85), Enzo Fernandez (82) and Moises Caicedo (82) all feature in the 20 highest-rated young midfielders, while new Manchester United signing Manuel Ugarte sneaks in with an 81 rating.

Of course, there are some exceptional talents in the women’s game, too. The most promising is Chelsea’s Lauren James who, while being rightfully classified as a winger, can feature at CAM. She’s 86-rated and has company from club teammate Sjoeke Nusken (81) in the top 20.

In her first appearance in EA FC as a Bayern Munich player, Lena Oberdorf boasts an 86 rating, with her new teammate Klara Buhl sat at 83 overall. Both Lyon midfielder Melchie Dumornay and Barcelona star Claudia Pina have 83 ratings as well.
