September was a hectic one for Arsenal.
The Gunners went undefeated across a month which threw out some serious tests in the form of games against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, helping them keep pace at the top of the Premier League table.
Performances weren’t always perfect, but as the old saying goes, it’s all about the results at the end of the day. Arsenal are unbeaten in the Premier League and the Champions League, and they even threw in a Carabao Cup third-round victory for good measure.
90min conducted a poll in our dedicated Arsenal fan WhatsApp channel (link to follow below), with over 25,000 votes revealing the Gunners’ top performer across September.

Kai Havertz headed into the October international break in scorching hot form with a goal in four straight games, but unfortunately for the Germany international, only half of those came in September.
Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City were both on the receiving end of masterclasses from Havertz towards the end of the month, after the 25-year-old had to do some dirty work to help Arsenal through tough tests against Spurs and Man City.
September was a mixed month for Leandro Trossard. The Belgian threatened to send the month spiralling out of control when he was shown a controversial red card in the draw with Man City, but it didn’t prove to be too costly, and he was allowed to serve his suspension in a routine cup win over Bolton.
Playing in a multitude of positions, Trossard ended the month with a goal against Leicester to his name.
At the other end of the pitch, centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes continued to prove he is far more than just William Saliba’s partner. The Brazilian is widely hailed as one of the best in the world in his position, and his form in September definitely helped that reputation.
He popped up with huge goals against both Spurs and Man City which could go a long way to deciding the fate of the Premier League title this season. A fine month’s work.

The winner, by an absolute landslide, was winger Bukayo Saka, whose creative tirade continued across September.
Saka bagged huge assists in the top-of-the-table clashes with Spurs and City, but it was a game in which he failed to directly contribute to a goal that Saka really stood out. The 4-2 win over Leicester was dominated by the 23-year-old, who did everything but score.
He took seven shots, created a further eight chances and succeeded with eight dribbles as he tormented the Foxes in one of September’s most entertaining affairs.
Having begun October with two goals and two assists from just two games, don’t be surprised to see Saka towards the top of next month’s shortlist as well.
