Ruben Amorim’s first interview as Manchester United’s head coach proved he will be dedicated, confident and hopeful of finally ending the Red Devil’s wait for success.

Fans eagerly awaited Amorim’s arrival, keen to see the changes he would implement after the November international break. His tactics have been celebrated and his persona has been praised, and now supporters have been given their first taste of what a team under Amorim could look like.

Man Utd have been criticised for their lack of identity over recent seasons. Even in his initial interview, Amorim made sure to address the changes he would make to implement a style at the club.

He said: “If I have to explain the importance of everything, it is the character, the way we fight, the way we play, and we must have an identity.”

If that Ruben Amorim interview doesn’t galvanise you, I don’t know what will.

The repetition of ‘identity’ stood out. A ‘guarantee’ that an idea will be clear from the first match.

That Amorim interview is phenomenal, can’t help but fill you with excitement for what the future holds.

One thing is clear with Amorim – he will expect players to work hard and push on to succeed.

He revealed in his interview: “We have to start since day one without fear, without thinking that they are not used to playing like this. This is not on my mind.”

If any player doesn’t immediately fall in love with Amorim, sell them.

He’s yet to lead his first game as United’s head coach, but already Amorim has sold his new dream to fans across the world. He will be in charge for the club’s clash with Ipswich Town on 24 November and will hope to implement his new style and get his squad on side.
