Prolific Bundesliga striker responds to Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Utd transfer links

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush has insisted his only focus is helping his current side “achieve something big” amid ongoing transfer links with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

All three Premier League sides could use a new striker and Marmoush has written plenty of headlines this season with his 18 goals and 12 assists across all competitions for Frankfurt.

Only Harry Kane (14) has netted more often than Marmoush (13) in the Bundesliga in 2024/25.

“There’s always a lot of speculation on the outside. But I don’t actually have a particular dream goal,” the Egypt international, signed as a free agent after an unremarkable spell at Wolfsburg ended in 2023, told German publication Sport Bild.

“What I can promise the fans is that I will give my all for Eintracht in every game. I am not thinking about a transfer. I am living in the here and now and enjoying my time in Frankfurt.

“Eintracht believed in me and put their trust in me. I want to repay that trust with good performances and goals. What happens in the distant future, however, doesn’t interest me. I want to continue to do my best so that at the end of the season we can say as a team: We have achieved something big.”

Marmoush is now valued at €60m (£50m) by Transfermarkt, an amount which has jumped 50%, up from €40m, in just the last six weeks since November.

Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche said at that time that €40m wouldn’t be enough to prise Marmoush away, and now it might be significantly more given how his value has soared. A contract until 2027 also gives the Bundesliga side the power in any potential transfer talks.

However, a sale for a club like Frankfurt not blessed with the riches of Europe’s leading sides is an inevitability as long as the right offer is made, Krosche has also previously confirmed.

“Ultimately, with many players who come to us, we offer them an environment in which they can develop further – knowing full well we would let them go if they developed faster than the club itself,” he said.

“This is an agreement we make with the boys. That’s why we have the opportunity to recruit so many exciting players, because they realise that they can take the next step in Frankfurt.”

Referencing past deals like Randal Kolo Muani’s 2023 switch to Paris Saint-Germain for €90m, he noted: “Decisions like these have to be made from a global perspective. It’s not just about sporting things, but also about more – namely the club as a whole.

“We have a certain market value in mind for each of our players. And if a club comes along that pays this, we will let the player go too. We always try to be prepared for this eventuality.”

Liverpool have been tipped to recruit up front ahead of next season, both in the event that Mohamed Salah leaves at the end of his contract and to push the inconsistent Darwin Nunez. Meanwhile, Arsenal have lacked a prolific ‘number nine’ since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club, with Manchester United’s limited firepower also well publicised.
