Two of the favourites to win this season’s Champions League will butt heads in the last 16 as Liverpool take on Paris Saint-Germain in the round’s headline tie.

Friday’s draw saw the top eight sides from the league phase joined by the eight teams who made it through the play-offs. Manchester City, AC Milan and Juventus were among the big names to fall at the first hurdle, but Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG all lived to fight another day.

PSG’s reward is a huge tie against Liverpool, in what represents the biggest clash of the last 16. There’s also a Madrid derby to look forward to between Real and Atletico, while Barcelona take on Portuguese giants Benfica and Arsenal meet Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven.

There is not much of a wait for the next round to get underway, with the first legs set to be played across 4/5 March.

The return legs come one week later on either 11/12 March, giving teams around three weeks to recover before the quarter-finals get underway on 8/9 April.
