Jorginho targets silverware after signing new Arsenal deal

Arsenal’s 32-year-old midfielder Jorginho has extended his contract for one year, focusing his efforts on securing trophies with the Gunners.

The Italian player transferred from Chelsea in January 2023 under an 18-month agreement and has since become a crucial player in Mikel Arteta’s squad vying for the Premier League title.

Jorginho has participated in 35 matches across various competitions this season, netting his sole goal in a Champions League victory over Lens. Currently leading the Premier League table with just two games left to play, Arsenal is one point ahead of Manchester City, who possesses a game in hand.

With previous victories in the Champions League, Europa League, and European Championship, Jorginho aspires to expand his collection of titles.

Looking forward to the future after the contract renewal, Jorginho expressed his goals, stating, “Win as much as I can, enjoy the moment…moving forward is trying to be here, happy and achieving as much as we can.

” Mikel Arteta commended Jorginho’s re-signed contract, emphasizing his importance in the team and leadership skills that elevate the team’s performance. Arsenal’s upcoming matches include a faceoff against Manchester United at Old Trafford and a final home game against Everton on May 19th.
