Manchester City are on the verge of an historic Premier League title win after Erling Haaland’s brace secured a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

The win saw City move two points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the table with one game left to play.

Arsenal needed their city rivals to avoid defeat against Spurs to stand a chance of landing a first league title since 2004.

But it wasn’t to be as Haaland’s second half brace secured the hard-fought win.

City will host West Ham at the Etihad on the final day of the season and a win will see them become the first side to be crowned league champions in four consecutive seasons.

Arsenal will host Everton at the Emirates on the final day with the hope that City slip up against West Ham.

Meanwhile, Spurs’ defeat also means Aston Villa have qualified for the Champions League and will play in Europe’s top competition for the first time since 1983.
