Chelsea defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at the AMEX in Wednesday’s Premier League game.

The Blues have now won four successive matches in the Premier League for the first time since October 2022.

The win took Mauricio Pochettino’s men to sixth place which guarantees a Europa League qualification ticket.

Also, Chelsea (60 points) can still qualify for the Europa League ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (63 points) going into the final day of the season on Sunday.

In Wednesday’s fixture, Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Christopher Nkunku made it 2-0 on 64 minutes.

With two minutes left Reece James was shown a straight red card.

Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck got a consolidation goal for Brighton in the 97th minute.

In another Premier League game, Manchester United bounced back from the weekend loss to Arsenal by defeating Newcastle United 3-2.
