Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has said Kobbie Mainoo is 10 times the player he was at 19 years.

Mainoo was instrumental in United’s 2-1 FA Cup win against city rivals Manchester City at Wembley stadium on Saturday.

Mainoo doubled United’s lead in the 39th minute as he finished off an assist by Bruno Fernandes.

It was his second goal in six appearances in this season’s FA Cup.

Reflecting on tje young midfielder’s performance against the league champions, Scholes said:

Alejandro Garnacho had given United the lead on 30 minutes following an error by Josko Gvardiol.“Don’t waste your time with comparison between me and Kobbie Mainoo, he is 10 times the player I was at 19.

“Just love the way he receives ball, calmness, awareness of what’s around him and big goals in big games. He’s special and he’s Red!.”

Meanwhile the youngster’s brilliant performance for the Reds saw him included in England’s provisional squad for the Euros.
