Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will be without defender Daniel Mendie and Rapha Adams in Tuesday’s third-placed game against Ghana in the WAFU B U-17 tournament due to injury.

Media officer of the Golden Eaglets Francis Achi made this known on Monday.

Achi posted a photo of the two players on his X handle, strapped up in bandages.

“Update from Golden Eaglets camp…
Daniel Mendie, left full back and Rapha Adams, a striker with two goals in the tournament are out of the 3rd place game against Ghana on Tuesday 5pm Nigeria time,” he wrote on his handle.

While Ghana lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the semi-finals, the Golden Eaglets fell 1-0 against Côte d’Ivoire.

Following their semi-final wins, both Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire have qualified for the U-17 AFCON.

According to Achi CAF will confirm in the coming days if three or four teams will qualify from WAFU B.
