Seven members of the Barcelona squad were on senior international duty this past week, with every one of them competing in UEFA Nations League games.
Plenty of Barca players saw minutes for Spain on their victory lap after their Euro 2024 triumph, while the likes of Robert Lewandowski and co. also starred in big wins for their nations.
Here’s how Barcelona’s international players fared during the September international break.

Finally Germany’s number one after Manuel Neuer’s retirement, Marc-Andre ter Stegen earned his 41st and 42nd caps this past week.
The 41st came in a 5-0 thumping of Hungary, in which the goalkeeper completed 91% of his passes, and the 42nd came in a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands.

It’s no surprise that France won the game Jules Kounde started (vs. Belgium) and lost the game that he didn’t (vs. Italy) this past week.
He’s a key man for Les Bleus.

Pedri didn’t see a whole lot of game time during the September international break.
The midfielder came off the bench late in the draw with Serbia, before being sacrificed in the 28th minute by manager Luis de la Fuente after Robin Le Normand received a red card.

The new signing wasn’t quite able to bring his early season club form to the international stage with him.
Dani Olmo failed to really make an impact in his solitary appearance of the international break – starting as an attacking midfielder for the 0-0 draw with Serbia. He also hobbled off with an injury in the game, although he is set to be available for this weekend’s game against Girona.

It’s fair to say that Ferran Torres made the most of his minutes for Spain.
The forward was on fire when he came off the bench for the second half of the win over Switzerland, bagging a goal and a brace as La Roja ran out 4-1 winners.

Yes, of course Lamine Yamal played well for Spain. He always does.
The youngster was on-song particularly in the win over Switzerland, bagging an assist and generally causing mayhem on the right flank.
He’s too good.

Robert Lewandowski has looked back to his very best in recent weeks at club, and he brought that form with him to the international stage too.
The Poland captain was the star of the show in the 3-2 win over Scotland at Hamden Park, netting a penalty and setting up another goal.
