Morocco manager Walid Regragui has dismissed speculation that Manchester United right-back Noussair Mazraoui is suffering from a serious heart condition.
United confirmed earlier this week that Mazraoui underwent what has been described as “precautionary” heart surgery, and while the Red Devils predicted a recovery period of a matter of weeks, reports have claimed a serious illness could keep the Morocco international on the sidelines for a significant spell.
Regragui, however, has set the record straight with a reassuring update on Mazraoui’s wellbeing.
“Noussair does not suffer from any serious problem as was reported and he is aware of that,” Regragui told a press conference.
“God willing, he will be present with us during the next international camp in November.”
Indeed, United expect Mazraoui back in action before the November international break – a welcome boost for a defence that is already without a handful of other big names.
Left-back’s Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are thought to be approaching a comeback, while centre-back Leny Yoro continues to make progress on the foot injury that has kept him sidelined since pre-season.
Harry Maguire is, however, set for several weeks on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.
