Chelsea finish up the league phase of the Europa Conference League by hosting Irish outfit Shamrock Rovers on Thursday evening.
The Blues have blitzed their five previous opponents during the league phase and have guaranteed themselves safe passage to the last 16. A visit from the unbeaten Shamrock Rovers shouldn’t threaten their perfect record.
Enzo Maresca will make wholesale changes to his starting lineup on Thursday, fielding a team comprised of fringe players and academy products. The Italian has made sweeping alterations in each of the Blues’ five victories during the league phase such is the incredible depth of his squad.
Here is how Chelsea could line up against Shamrock Rovers.

GK: Filip Jorgensen – Jorgensen has been Chelsea’s Conference League goalkeeper this term and has done an impressive job during his European outings. He will be hoping for a third clean sheet in the league phase.
RB: Josh Acheampong – After several months in exile, academy starlet Acheampong was finally handed his first European opportunity by Maresca against Astana. He performed admirably in difficult conditions and appears to have been rewarded with a new contract.
CB: Tosin Adarabioyo – Chelsea find themselves a tad short on centre-back options right now following recent injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, with Adarabioyo also featuring in the weekend win over Brentford.
CB: Axel Disasi – Disasi has not always been error-free in a Chelsea shirt but he’s improved in recent outings. Has scored twice and kept two clean sheets in his last four appearances for the Blues.
LB: Marc Cucurella – With Cucurella suspended for the weekend clash with Everton after seeing red against Brentford, the Spaniard may be utilised in what is essentially a dead rubber fixture for Chelsea.
DM: Cesare Casadei – Casadei missed the trip to Astana as he was serving a one-game suspension following a red card against Heidenheim. He will be competing with young Sam Rak-Sakyi for a starting berth.
DM: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Dewsbury-Hall produced a classy performance in a youthful Chelsea team in Kazakhstan. The midfielder has been almost entirely restricted to Conference League outings since his move to west London.
RW: Tyrique George – The 18-year-old came close to opening his Chelsea account against Astana and will likely have another opportunity to bag a first senior strike here.
AM: Christopher Nkunku – Nkunku has been relentless when called upon this season, especially in the Conference League. Seven goals in six outings hasn’t been enough to usurp the in-form Nicolas Jackson, though.
LW: Joao Felix – Felix missed the weekend win with a knock but may return to the starting XI midweek. Mykhailo Mudryk would have likely started but he recently failed a drugs test.
ST: Marc Guiu – The summer signing produced an excellent performance in Kazakhstan last week, capped by two goals – the first of which was excellent.
